Industry wide, the term “training” is generally used to describe the operation of equipment to plant personnel; however, it is open to many interpretations. To clarify these various connotations, IPM developed the EQUIPS Training Program to better define the term and form the comprehensive approach we take to accomplish the meaningful transfer of information from OEMs to plant personnel. In providing new packaging equipment lines, the specification, engineering, and installation are a priority. Of equal importance in achieving targeted uptime goals and efficiencies is the training and competency of the staff responsible for the day-to-day and shift-to-shift production. The top-level objective of EQUIPS is to have the and maintenance of equipment achieve performance levels at efficiencies above any other method of instruction.
